SEND ME A MEMORY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. What is Send Me A Memory?

Send Me A Memory was created to simplify the act of writing physical letters to friends and family. Instead of finding some clean stationary, a pen that works, an unwrinkled envelope, and a stamp you can log in, type the body of your letter, upload pictures if you like, and click Send. We’ll do the rest of the job – tell us where it needs to go and we will print, fold, and mail your letter for you.

  1. What can I do with Send Me A Memory?

Send physical letters to loved ones who can no longer (or never could) work with a computer, or who do not have easy access to electronic communications. Send letters to friends stationed overseas who don’t have easy access to their email account. Send physical mail to family in the hospital or a nursing home who cannot log on to a computer.

  1. Why send physical letters when I can use email?

A physical letter carries more meaning, more intent, and more emotion. A physical letter also makes people read it instead of just skim the page, and sends a stronger message than an email. A physical letter seems much more thoughtful too.

  1. Who would I send letters to?

Send a birthday wish to your grandmother. Tell your brother who’s in the Army how much you miss him. Send a note for Mother’s Day. Wish your friend in the hospital a speedy recovery. Tell your dad he is about to become a grandfather. For special occasions send a letter instead of an email.

  1. Can I send pictures?

Yes, you can upload as many pictures as you want. Or, don’t send any. You will be billed per picture so the choice is yours.

  1. Why did you create Send Me A Memory?

Because we recognized the disconnect that people can experience if they cannot operate, or do not have access to, email, Facebook, or other forms of electronic communication in the digital age. Without computer access many people can feel isolated from their friends and family. This is especially true for people with memory issues, or who suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease or something similar. In fact, a personal experience with Alzheimer’s led to the creation of Send Me A Memory. You can read about that on the About page.

  1. Do you read the letters you handle?

We do not read your letters. We do not tolerate any of our staff reading your personal communications, however they could be inadvertently exposed to the content while printing and handling the letter or photos.

For that reason it is important that you do not include any sensitive information that could endanger or embarrass yourself or someone else, or could expose critical information such as account passwords, banking information, personal identification data, or any other information that could be considered sensitive, within the letters you create at Send Me A Memory.

  1. Do you keep copies of the letters on your servers?

We only retain your outgoing communication and/or data long enough to ensure your letter has been successfully mailed. Once the letter has been sent we remove the data from our system.

  1. Are you going to send me Spam or sell my contact information to other parties?

That is an emphatic no. We are victims of the Spam tsunami ourselves and have no interest in adding to the problem. We will never give your contact information to another party or company, or use it for anything except communications about your account.

If we do send messages that you feel are unwanted or inappropriate please unsubscribe immediately, or fill out our Contact form and ask to be removed.

  1. Can I cancel my account?

Of course! If we fail to meet your expectations in any way feel free to move on. However, it would be helpful if you would share with us why you felt we missed the mark. We cannot improve our service or repair any issues without your feedback so please share your reasons for leaving with us.

If you wish to cancel your account please fill out our contact form and include your login ID. Please also include your thoughts.
